What are your rates?

Our prices depend on the complexity of the work involved and the deadline. Each project is different. Contact us to get a free no obligation quotation for your project.

Do you charge per hour or offer fixed prices?

Much of our work is done at an hourly rate, but we normally agree a fixed price for larger projects. We treat each project individually, and we can usually use whichever pricing model the client prefers.

What turnaround time can I expect?

Our turnaround times depend on how many projects we have on at any given time. Get in touch for details of our current availability.

What CMS applications are you familiar with?

For fully content managed websites, we primarily use either ExpressionEngine, a commercial product, or MODx, an open source CMS.

For blogs and more basic content management requirements, Wordpress is our weapon of choice.

We use Cushy for clients seeking to add minimal content management to largely static sites.

For more specialised sites, we recommend using vBulletin for forums and 68 Classifieds for classifieds websites. We can also develop custom Admin Areas perfectly matched to a site's requirements when needed.

What is the difference between web design and web development?

Web designers create web page layouts using graphics software such as Adobe PhotoShop. We do not provide web design services.

Web developers write the code to transform graphic designs into working web pages. They take the graphics provided by a web designer as input and produce a finished website as their output. This is our area of expertise.

Why do you only build websites and not design them as well?

Web design and web development are two separate areas that require very different skills. It is rare for one person to be proficient at both areas. We believe that the best quality websites are produced when a qualified designer designs the web pages, and skilled web developers build the site. We both hold technical qualifications and have vast experience of building websites.

I need a website designed as well as built. Can you help?

While we do not offer web design services directly, we work with a number of excellent web designers. Contact us with details of your project and budget, and we may be able to recommend someone suitable.

Is Tidy a company?

Currently we both operate as sole traders and trade under our own names rather than as a company. We both work on our own projects and invoice for them individually. Occasionally, we collaborate on larger projects. We established Tidy.ie as a central reference point for our freelance web development work.
